Progressing Ballet Technique Workshop

Our newly certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher, Debbie, will be running a Progressing Ballet Technique Workshop on Saturday, 4 May, 1100-1230.

What is PBT? It is an innovative program designed by one of Australia's leading ballet teachers, Marie Walton-Mahon, for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in order to achieve their personal best in classical ballet. In this workshop, Debbie will introduce you to a series of PBT exercises which, alongside regular and consistent class attendance, will help you gain an anatomical and practical understanding of your body's movements when executing ballet technique.

Workshop participants will need to bring the following equipment:

  • fitball (appropriate to your height) + pump
  • theraband
  • soft ball (medium size, 20-23cm)
  • lacrosse ball.

You will only need the equipment listed above; more information about these items can be found on the PBT website. Please note, there is no spare equipment at the studio!

This workshop is open to all 6P students; the movement knowledge you will gain from this workshop can be applied across most dance styles taught at 6P. Ballet and Pre-Pointe students are particularly encouraged to participate. Normal drop-in class costs apply.

Bridging the Gap: Pirouettes & Allegro

The jump from beginner to elementary level ballet is a big one; the pirouettes are no longer theoretical while the allegro gets quicker, longer and more complex. In other words; you are diving in the deep end.

Enter Debbie, who will help you to Bridge the Gap in a workshop focusing solely on Pirouettes and Allegro. In this workshop, you can expect to get dizzy and puffy, as Debbie imparts to you the tips, tricks and - most importantly - the technique required for nailing your pirouette and allegro sequences in class.

Bridging the Gap: Pirouettes & Allegro will run on Saturday, 4 May, 1330-1530. Normal drop-in class costs apply.

Reserve your spot via our online timetable!

Please note, our Terms & Conditions apply to all classes.
