Artist Spotlight: Holly Treadaway

Introducing Holly Treadaway, our current artist on display 6th Position. In the small world, star-crossed way that Canberra seems to operate, Holly and 6P director, Gen, previously met when Holly photographed Gen's wedding.

Holly is a practicing professional photographer who is currently studying visual arts. Her photographic work specialises in weddings, portraits and documentary. Her passion is to work with people. We took some time to find our more about her visual art collection on display at 6P and to learn more about Holly.

Who are you and what do you do?

I'm an artist, photographer, mother, friend, fiance, daughter & sister. I create visual stories of relationships, human experiences, our landscapes and surrounding environments. I like my work to tell a story, engage it's viewers and inform them of a time and place.

What is this collection of called and does it have a back story?

'Summer Delights' is a playful collection of experiences formed while on holidays at Tuross on the South Coast of NSW. Over the Christmas break I took it upon myself to play with a new medium - alcohol inks. It was wonderful, and I drew upon my surrounding environment & encounters with wildlife.

Can the 6P community purchase any of the works on display?

Yes! Ceramic tile original artworks are $39, small framed original artworks (approx A4) are $79 and large framed original artwork (approx A3) are $120.

What other works do you do?

I work as a photographer, and also love drawing and printmaking. I'm still exploring the visual art world, but my main interest (regardless of medium) is in people (portraiture). Works from previous photographic exhibitions can be found and purchased via my website here.
Alternatively, both photographic & visual art work can be seen on my Instagram accounts @hollytreadawayphotographer  or  @hollytreadawayartist.
