Concert planned to go ahead!
Yes! We’re still planning to hold our end of year concert on Sunday 8 November at Canberra College Performing Arts Centre. We’re still finalising the details of what it will look like and we don’t know exactly what position we’ll be in regarding COVID, but we’re expecting to get everyone who wants to up on stage.
Choreographic mentoring EOIs
Have you got a dream to create your own piece? Interested in learning more about choreographic processes? This year, we’re bringing back the 6P Choreographic Mentoring Program.
The aim of the program is to provide an avenue for you to choreograph, teach and stage a small performance piece, with guidance from a 6P mentor.
Participants can expect the following from the program:
- 5 x one-on-one hours with your mentor
- choreographic workshop
- 6 x hours of complimentary studio hire
- teaching, staging and performance opportunity in November 2020.
To keep your out-of-pocket costs as low as possible, 6th Position is subsidising 50% of all participants' fees. The subsidised cost of participating in the Choreographic Mentor Program is $320.
To apply, please write a one-page pitch telling us:
- the story / idea you want to express
- the dance style you envisage the piece taking (e.g. jazz, lyrical, ballet, tap etc)
- why you're an awesome candidate and what you hope to gain from the Choreographic Mentor Program.
Please email your pitch to firstname.lastname@example.org by no later than Sunday, 26 July 2019.
